What is the Mendi 9s competition?
Mendi 9s is an exciting, fast-paced rugby league competition played in a modified nine-a-side format. Featuring three competitive divisions in both the Men’s and Women’s categories, it offers thrilling gameplay and opportunities for all skill levels. With over $50,000* in prize money up for grabs, it’s a must-see event for players and fans alike!

When and where will the 2026 competition take place?
The Mendi 9s 2026 competition will be held at Brothers Leagues Club Townsville on October 2-4, 2026. Coinciding with the NRL Grand Final and the King’s Birthday long weekend.

What are the registration costs for the 2025 competition?
Registration details can be found in the Information Pack.

To secure registration of a team, a 50% deposit is payable withing seven (7) days of registration with final payment due on or before the 30th of June 2026. Registered teams will compete for a chance to win a share of over $50,000* in prize money!

How do I register my team?
EOIs open on our website from Friday 6th February, 2026, and registrations will officially open in March.

Please note: Registration of your team will not be confirmed until your registration fees are paid in full and you receive written confirmation from us of registration.

Can teams bring shade tents?
Yes, teams are welcome to bring shade tents. Please follow venue guidelines on tent placement and setup times.

Will medical assistance be available?
Yes, we provide on-site first aid and an ambulance for emergencies.

What amenities are available?
Facilities include changerooms with showers, restrooms, and several food options. Brothers Leagues Club offers dining and licensed bars for spectators.

Can I bring my own alcohol?
No outside alcohol is permitted. Alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are available for purchase on-site.
